Mark has been interested in reptiles since he was a young boy and has devoted countless hours to the study of reptiles, especially venomous snakes and colubrids. Growing up in Pennsylvania, Mark’s passion for reptiles developed out of a passion for all of the natural world. He spent as much time as possible exploring the woods and creeks near where he grew up. Throughout high school, Mark volunteered at his friend and mentors Reptile Sanctuary, where he helped care for dozens of unwanted pet reptiles.
In 2015 Mark had the opportunity to start up a wildlife program for a Retreat Center. The facility maintained a collection of PA native herpetofauna, Rattlesnakes, and a number of exotic reptiles, for which Mark curated for 10 years.
Finally, Mark decided to make a career change, which also allowed him to pursue his own reptile endeavors and officially started Diverse Reptiles in early 2025.
